Our second appeal with our insurance company to get the Vest for Grace is going to be Thursday, August 31st. Since we have the state involved and Grace’s Dr.’s are adamant that the Vest is a ‘standard of care’, I really like our chances. Watch this space for an update.

Grace’s culture came back negative for pseudomonas yesteday. Although this doesn’t guarantee it’s completely gone, it is a reason to celebrate.

Grace had a checkup Friday to test her progress. She has held her weight steady at 35 pounds and is almost 40 inches tall. The doctor’s said that she was doing great and sounded good. We are continuing her antibiotics for now as we await a new culture.

Upon the advice of the Missouri Department of Insurance, we have backed out of our original appeal. Now, the state is going to handle the appeal. We felt this was the best thing to do as the state has the experience in dealing with insurance companies in matters like these. If we hadn’t backed out, [...]
